This place is very family friendly, attentive, you have privacy between tables, can still order drinks and the food is great and plentiful. Cool atmosphere. Every age group will be happy here. Korean neighborhood so Korean is helpful but I did see non Koreans here. The staff was attentive and they are all different ages. And they work well together Did not sit at sushi bar but the men seemed kind. Very fresh seafood. Very taste dishes Will return for sure. Will tell friends and family

When you think of Korean Hwe in Flushing NY, it's really hard not to think of Dokdoya. This is that place you come as a small table to chill and enjoy some fresh sashimi, delicious food and a bottle of soju for a casual dinner. And this is that place where you come to celebrate a special occasion with your buddies and family to enjoy LOTs of deliciousness. Location: Don't let the address fool you. The location is very visible from Northern Blvd and there are some meter parking & local street parking around the establishment. We always opt in for the Hwe combo. Rather it be white fish + seafood plate or Assorted sashimi + other choices, it's hard to go wrong when food is so fresh.

Hubby and I found this place by accident. We planned to stop for dinner at BCD Tofu on Northern Boulevard, but the one on Northern Boulevard closed permanently, and another restaurant took over, so we kept on driving and found this one. We ordered the Korean braised seafood because the word seafood is always tempting for a seafood lover like me, but I didn't really like their braised seafood due to the lack of seafood and more bean sprouts. The portion looked big, but not much seafood. Hubby seemed to enjoy the dish on the menu, but the taste was average. However, the Zen sushi he ordered for our second sharing meal was delightful. This one would be a dish I would order again if we return. The combination of assorted raw fish covered with avocado roll was delicious and perfect. Order this instead of that braised seafood. It was a high-end service restaurant, although the restaurant was a casual atmosphere restaurant. I'm satisfied with the Roll. Thanks!

Took my dad out here for his bday. It was pretty good. The fish was fresh and generous size for sushi and sashimi. We ordered sushi and sashimi combo $120. And 2 special rolls $17 each. When you order a combo it comes with other side dishes like tempura, seafood pancake, cheese corn. Overall everything was good, it is a bit overpriced but def worth a try.

The food is great. You can ask them to customize to what you prefer. The service is good as well attentive. We have gotten sick after one of the meals here. But cannot conclude if it's due to this place. The place is just a warm and cozy mom and pop shops.

My friends and I arrived here for dinner. We ordered the fresh seafood and fresh sashimi platter for $130 and another plate of octopus for $40. It came with lots of side dishes. Make sure you don't eat too much side dishes to eat the main course. Also, the waiters speak only Korean, so come prepared. It is a spacious, well lit restaurant. Clean too.

Came here for the hwedubap. It's actually my first time having it in New York. I've had it only in Korea. Obviously it doesn't compare.... But it was an okay dish. On the menu, hwedubap can only be found in the lunch special. However, you can ask for it if you come for dinner which we did. It was $33... very pricey. It does come with soup though. I think this dish would be significantly better if the chojang wasn't too sweet. There was just a lot of added toppings that isn't traditionally needed in this dish as well. We also ordered the spicy cod stew. Very refreshing but it lacked depth. The soup wasn't as rich. If they boiled it for longer, it would be great! The cod was delicious though. I enjoyed the side dishes but I'm not sure if I will be back. The prices are ridiculously high and I will continue to search for another place that sells hwaedubap.

Was so excited to come here because I saw that they served live octopus! We came during lunch time so we happened to catch their lunch specials as well. The seafood here is so fresh and they have them in tanks at the back of the restaurant. The side dishes were also good and they will refill for you if you ask. The star of the show was the live octopus. This was such a fun experience as I've seen so many videos of people eating live octopus in Korea. First bite, it was definitely an experience since the tentacles suction cup will suction as soon as it touches any surface of your mouth. Make sure to chew thoroughly because it is a choking hazard! Overall, great quality food and definitely had a great experience here.
